Natural Building - EDIBLE LANDSCAPING

We take plants, shrubs and trees (think self-reproducing, solar-powered, biodegradable, oxygen-producing, carbon-sequestering, water-filtering, food producing machines), and use them to create pretty and productive, low-maintenance gardens surrounding your home or business.

Edible Landscapes produce food, medicine and fuel for the people and animals around them. They are different from flower gardens or traditional landscaping in that edible and medicinal species of plants, bushes and trees are used instead of simply ornamental plants. They also attract and feed wildlife and increase the fertility of the land over time.

Characteristics of a Permaculture Garden

  • Creates a visually pretty environment using plants, trees and bushes
  • Beautiful, edible, medicinal and useful species of plants are used
  • Plants, bushes and trees perform other functions related to human spaces—as visual/sound barriers, windbreaks, cool shades or letting through warming sun.
  • They are landscaped to harvest and retain rainfall. (see Rainwater Harvesting)
  • They are a landscape that encourages interaction and relation between humans the surrounding, natural environment.
